My collection explores the relationship between imperfection and identity. It seeks to comprehend the fluidity of identity, challenge an idealised self perception, and empower the notion of imperfection by conveying it’s intrinsic and ubiquitous nature. With a subdued colour palette of wool fabrics, archetypal tailored pieces are subverted through cut outs, blended layering and a paradoxical display of raw edges. These characteristics question a sense of uniformity and control, establishing an unfinished and changeable aesthetic, where the fragmentation within our identity is highlighted by intentional flaws in design. The resulting garments - a tangible expression of our imperfect identity, in a constant state of flux.
