DRIFT is a deep-sea experience of animals that inhabit the newly explored Ningaloo Canyons to enhance the viewer’s connection to a place that is hostile to humans yet abundant with life. I explore Sigmund Freud’s theory that the deep sea represents the unconscious mind. Pushing to further our connection to the natural world through sustainable innovation of bioplastic materiality and LED technology in fashion design, I promote reflexive practise toward how we live on the planet. Creating a connection with nature aims to positively impact individual’s health and wellbeing and subsequently implement actions that protect the health of the planet (Martin et al. 2020).
