Helena Buchegger

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

The title of my collection is “Romantiser Le Corps” which in French means to romanticise the body. The term body can be understood through many perceptions and can influence the way we interpret garments when on and off the human form. By subverting the way we choose to wear garments my project aims to examine the positive changes around body image through a couture perspective. In my practice, I draw inspiration from different methods of dressing and how clothing is positioned on the body. Extruding silhouettes and features on the body are an important form of expressing oneself, and how we can portray our bodies. This has been done by proposing different layers through unique body hugging and extruding silhouettes transforming the garments to comfort the body.
