Charli Polites

Mixed Blues is a ready-to-wear collection that stems from my exploration into the challenging of gender stereotypes and traits through combining masculine and feminine garment detailing. The societal dynamic is questioned as I've re-imagined femininity in subverted and male dominated archetypes that are usually associated with agency and strength such as a blazer, vest and shirt. My collection will showcase traditional tailoring, loose and tight fitting silhouettes, pinstripe material, sharp edging, pleating and the subversion of key archetypes such as blazers and shirts through the use of up-cycling and the interjecting of feminine and modern detailing.
