As women, basically from birth, we have been told endlessly to dress conservatively and “like a lady”. “Underwear or outerwear?” rebels against this and aims to subvert traditional lingerie archetypes into outerwear garments. Through the collection, bras and thongs are at the forefront of the outfit, questioning their initial purpose and why we feel the need to hide them. The pieces were designed with a focus on embracing and liberating female bodies, rewriting the narrative that undergarments are meant to discretely cover up or add shape where deemed necessary under other articles of clothing.
