I find solace beneath the drying rack, my secret bases.’
This project is a personal gift—a tribute to my fearless love and the ache of separation. In 'Bao Bao er', I explore how a lack of intimacy security can lead to a strong desire for protection. Motivated by a strong emotional connection I felt to the drying rack, laid with clothes, during a moment of heartbreaking.
The chapters—'Ma Bao', 'Birthday', and 'Castle'—captures the purity of our past emotions. Metal, seemingly inconspicuous, but played a crucial role in 'connecting' and 'protecting'. I've found it hard to recall every little detail. However, memories are ultimately a blurring emotion. There are clear images in my mind, but I can't describe them in detail. It's more of a feeling – I love you.
‘I'm revealing my most vulnerable side.’
I seek no pity. Instead, I hope for everyone's self-understanding, self-care, and an embrace of every emotional shift.
