Stoneyridge’ is a sentimental collection inspired by the hardship and kinship of life on the Australian land. It’s an honest render of my family - the woolgrowers, grain and meat providers of the industry, where the history of Australian apparel has been analysed and reinvented in a diverse and contemporary approach. This collection uses an anomalous material palette where a distinctive selection of industrial and found materials are exhibited. Raw fleeces, superfine merino and felted wool are incorporated alongside innovative rust-dyeing techniques and Toorallie Merino Denim to deliver a tangible reinterpretation of my story. I want my collection to pay homage to the relentless, uncompromising beauty of the Australian country and be a tangible medium representing the
perseverance of my family for 163 years.
