Lucinda Johnson-Cornes

RMIT Bachelor of Textiles (Design)

Walawuru is an exploration of myself and my identity and emphasises the importance and beauty of storytelling. It was an opportunity to delve into my background, with the cloaks being inspired by traditional Indigenous possum skin cloaks, and explore the environment surrounding me. Each cloak is hand-dyed, combined with other hand-created elements, such as sprayed wash-away web. The aim of this collection is to connect others to their own stories by experiencing mine.
