Rachel Saunders

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

My practice explores our relationship with dress through the lens of our everyday rituals, examining our routine performances and interpreting them into conceptual ready-to-wear outcomes. This collection, End Of Day, considers our codes of dress and customs of the corporate office. The work builds upon my own personal experiences of employment in a corporate architecture setting, observing the tension between sentiments of both nervousness and mundanity. My key methods of design have included; studying the connection between garment and performance through filmed wear tests, material research and transformation, and analysis of archetypes
