My collection explores a concept of ‘queer joy’, and the endorsement of positive relationships around sex within this community. I am interested in ideas surrounding hyper-sexualisation through fashion, specifically how this is represented through modern nightlife and media in queer spaces. The through-line of my collection features crochet underwear, which was inspired by the common prevalence of fetish wear archetypes seen within queer spaces that often highlight erogenous zones of the body. My practice heavily features crochet and knit techniques; I was interested to discover how these mediums can communicate this concept into a tangible collection.
