I have been thinking about the definition of "freak" ever since my father called me "freak" for colouring my hair. To me, it's a way of thinking that is different from others, and it's a personal characteristic of each of us. But in the Eastern culture, this kind of difference in thinking can be frightening. I have been psychologically damaged by it. In my series, I visualise this term. Inspired by creative and personal experiences from my past that were not understood by my friends, I created these three very different, yet interconnected outfits. At the same time, I would like to take this opportunity to protest against the idea of "not being different" in Eastern society. I want to show those who have had similar experiences to me that it is not a bad thing to be different, and not to be bound by perceptions. "Freak" also means that you are unique.
