RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

My graduating collection explores luxury fashion's exploitative nature. I wanted to explore this with Surrealism as my inspiration. I draped my collection directly onto the mannequin with my eyes closed to tap into my “unconscious mind” And then transferred my designs to flat patternmaking. I’ve used a combination of traditional devore textile techniques, hand dying fabric, beading, the aim to create an unsettling collection. I’ve used a variety of sizes democratize couture, making it more reflective of diverse experiences. This collection is designed to be more than artistic expression; it’s a call to rethink the values and structures within the fashion industry.
