Maneeza Rahmany

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

Leveraging my lived experience as a third-culture kid, this collection celebrates the beauty of hybrid identities. ‘Safar’, translates to ‘travel’ in Urdu, Arabic and Farsi, referring to the cross-cultural
linguistics of my global identity. Whilst juxtapositioning my Eastern heritage through its cultural complexities and celebrating traditional artisanal techniques, this collection fosters fusion garments to revoke sounds of the East and Global South alongside contemporary silhouettes and needs of the West. Safar embodies the fluidity and
complexity of a Third Culture Identity.
