Aileen Setiawan

RMIT Bachelor of Textiles (Design)

For a long time, I suppressed my feelings about my rebellious and gothic past. Now, as a textile designer, I'm embracing that phase by incorporating that mood into this project. This work reflects my self-acceptance and draws inspiration from the textures and shapes of the fauna in my home city’s mangrove reserves, which I used to visit in my childhood. By merging these influences, I aim to create a collection that captures both my personal history and the beauty of natural forms.
