‘Magical Thing’ is a RTW collection that draws on my lived experience of womanhood in the fourth wave of feminism. Holding core themes of strength in the feminine, I explore women’s struggle to express one’s power and one’s softness simultaneously. My collection endeavours to value women’s labour by focusing on technique and craft in the design process, using slow design methods to create garments that will be kept for a lifetime. A Gothic colour scheme juxtaposes the soft silk drapery, building an intimate world where strength and softness coincide.
