Yu Xu

My collection runs through the three main concepts of Affection, Nostalgia and Cultural Heritage, discussing my journey to revisit the warmth of childhood memories and the cultural context of China by exploring my personal history through fashion. Through adding, collaging, restoring and designing, I combine the forms and colours of old objects to adapt how memories are visualized. In installation art and fashion, I extract the form of old objects to transform them, exploring their relationship with fashion technology, and presenting them using digital printing and making a variety of pleats.
