Maria Mazari

RMIT Bachelor of Textiles (Design)

Home is a collection of homewares inspired by second home, Afghanistan. My work was inspired by Afghanistan's textiles, architecture, culture, and rich history. Having grown up in Australia, my love for my homeland and identity was something my parents put a lot of emphasis on. I grew up with a lot of traditional stories, textiles, and curiosity about my homeland. This collection is very personal and dear to my heart and I hope it achieves its purpose of showing the outside world of how I view my country, a country that is often misunderstood. When I imagine Afghanistan, I see this collection.
