Maria de Lourdes

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

My collection explores the metamorphosis of human identity. It is centred around Deleuze and Guattari’s theory of a ‘Body-Without-Organs’, which emphasises the process of ‘becoming’ which is believed to be a practice of change and repetition that makes a difference. Human nature is in a continuous state of fluidity, and through my designs, I immerse the self into different states of the body, with a particular interest in creating non-human form.
