SHOW
This is the digital catalogue for THE SHOW, held on the RMIT Brunswick campus on November 3rd, 2022.
For the first time, the students from RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design) and Bachelor of Textiles (Design) in the School of Fashion and Textiles are presenting their final collections and projects in one massive collaborative on campus exhibition. A type of festival of fashion and textile design, THE SHOW explores the diverse, emerging practices of 123 final-year students.
This year, students were invited to explore different visual mediums and methods of communicating their work, resulting in a broad range of installations, pop-up performances, short film screenings, and a runway.
THE SHOW celebrates the creativity and ingenuity of the next generation of undergraduate fashion and textiles designers in Melbourne, Australia. It explores the multiplicity of what a fashion and textiles design show can be and enables students to actively engage in diverse modes of presentation.
This exhibition is the result of a cumulative effort between two final year courses that cover creative studio practice and presentation. The works are developed from Year 3 courses Fashion Design Project Launch and Textile Design Project Launch, and the live exhibition and online catalogue was ideated and produced as part of Fashion Design Presentation and Textile Design Presentation.
