RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

My theme of this project is the fear of clowns, more specifically the short term explosive fear of clowns caused by clown psychopathic serial killers, which extends into a wider range of contemporary phobias. It is difficult for different people to empathise with others emotionally, so I focus on fabric transformation and structural deconstruction to create a dressing experience that can help people to understand others' fears to a certain extent, and ultimately to appreciate the meaning of clothing as an art carrier.

My cinematography is inspired by the German expressionist horror film "Dr. Caligari" and the classic modern American horror film "The Shining" and "IT", with grotesque lighting and layouts that tap into and express the horror, loneliness and frenzied state of mind embedded in my designs.
