Is there more beneath the surface? ‘Moments Undiscovered’ tackles this question by encouraging gratitude for the things we have in its endeavour to combat our constant desire for novelty. Illustration, digital printing, knitting and embroidery breathe new life into once unwanted garments, accompanied by two textile lengths constructed from scrap fabrics and yarn gathered throughout the design process. The motifs capture the beauty of overlooked flora in my neighbourhood, with unexpected tactile surprises lying here and there to represent the hidden wonders beneath the unassuming. All at once, the things that we deemed dispensable become beautiful.
