Mia Leeworthy

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

Through Poetics of Space; Inhabited, I have explored methods of attaching to and inhabiting space. I have looked at the relationship between the body, garment and space as they connect, merge and extend upon each other, blurring the boundaries between them. My work attempts to materialise the emotional relationship our bodies have with the spaces we inhabit through the use of garments as a medium, letting our personal relationships to objects, rooms and surroundings be embodied in a visual and experiential form.

"To inhabit a space is to assimilate it to a body" (Daniel Sibony n.d.).
