Alessandra Rosaia

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

While showcasing my personal experiences with these designs I aim to highlight awareness of mental health, and how your mental state can fluctuate. I’m showcasing 3 looks expressing depression, anxiety, and relapse. These are things I have personally struggled with and I intend to highlight the pain, intrusive thoughts, and the all-consuming interference with everyday life mental health causes. I’m using unconventional materiality, mainly materials used on a farm to highlight my roots of growing up in a rural area where mental health is very silenced. I intend to use fashion as my form of media to express these feelings in relation to studies that showcase how our emotional state can affect our clothing choices, altering what we wear and what colours we use.
