RMIT Bachelor of Textiles (Design)

My project, ‘The Noise Is The Signal Is’, aims to communicate my experiences with Visual Snow Syndrome through weaving and embellishment. Colour, structure and fibre coalesce to create impressions of various symptoms including; tv-like static, light sensitivity, poor night vision, phosphenes (coloured shapes that collapse endlessly), and blue-field entoptic phenomena (overwhelm in blue spaces like a bright open sky). My hope is that experiencing these textiles will give the general public tactile portals into these surreal visions which escape verbal
explanation.
