Aye Myat Khine

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

In my final year project I wanted to question why a woman’s worth is determined by the presence or absence of her male counterpart. This is especially true in my country Myanmar where if you are unmarried, you are seen as unwanted and if you are divorced, you are promiscuous and unfaithful, no matter what your situation could have been. This is often an unspoken concept, but the prejudice is still very much relevant till this day. I wanted my project to basically be a giant middle finger to this ideology.
