My collection 'flashy female stereotypes' explores the stereotypes in society today that women only focus on dressing up themselves, with a glamorous appearance but insufficient personal ability. I took inspiration from rococo and marionettes, and used a constrained flashy puppet to express figurative stereotypes. I use all kinds of interesting puff sleeves and big dresses to create exaggerated shapes, while adding lots of pleats, ruffles and embellishments to show the concept of flashy. I hope that this way of materialising impressions can arouse people's thinking, and realise that this kind of stereotyping is an invisible harm to women.
