Feminine Fantasies is a collection created in response to the repeated fashion whims relating to mechanical or doll-like dress qualities within nineteenth century literature. These fantasies lie within a post-humanism approach to appearance, whereby women are encouraged to showcase their natural lumps and bumps. With focus towards a distressed, aggravated and discoloured body, my technical methods of burning fibres and materials breach the boundaries between the body and the garment, thus leading to the argument that the ideal body is non-existent.
