‘Riding Widdershins’ is a collection referencing the act of diverting from a motion that has a strong established current. This is a source of inspiration for my collection positioning my practice in a space of body inclusivity that subverts archetypes in feminine evening wear. This space demonstrates how fashion has commodified identity and has been centralised around a damaging foundation of ever developing the self. By exploring pleating and moulding techniques that displace the rigidity in traditional garment archetypes, I am able to question the necessity of these foundations within modern representations of evening wear.
