Hua Pi’ 画皮 translated as ‘The Painted Skin’ is a Chinese folklore of a scholar who falls in love with a demon - love's allure dances with tragedy's shadow. In my practice, I draw inspiration from the complexities of human emotions through themes of love, loss, and sacrifice. I represent these emotions in my exploration through fabric manipulation, silhouette, and print.
