RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

Werifesteria - The impulse to wander through the forest longingly, in search of magic and mystery. Finding value, imagination, and escape in nature’s tranquility. For my mini collection, I have created a hybrid of demi couture and historical costume using design as a means of storytelling. Personifying the characters and textures found in a forest ecosystem. I seek to draw parallels between fast fashion today and the dramatic changes in silhouette of the late Victorian era (also known as the Bustle Period). Encouraging appreciation for fine detail and quality lost over time, ensuring garments are cherished rather than disposed.
