Dylan Negrine (Love Manifesto)

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

"Devotus" serves as a personal interpretation of the objective notion of God within our contemporary society. The project subverts archaic processes commonly associated with liturgical vestments, infusing them with hypermodern techniques inspired by sports and athletic wear. The goal is to revitalize the relevance of devotion in our present cultural system.

Within my three-piece collection, I have incorporated "structural accessories" that embody the concepts of sacrarium and worship. These pieces serve as tangible representations of the profound essence of devotion. Embodying archaic notions of craftsmanship, I have hand-printed each motif onto the surface of the collection, delving into the subtle intricacies of debossing and extrusion. This exploration is informed by my extensive practice-based research in surface design.
