Dress is a universal language that has evolved throughout history, reflecting the multifaceted conglomerate that is the fashion industry. Stepping outside the rapid cyclic nature of the fashion industry Archive: Chapter 2 is designed by combing historical and contemporary research. Traditional garment archetypes and signifiers are interconnected utilising slow methodologies not replicable in industrial settings. Combining traditional suiting textiles with lightweight knits and silk blends, monochromatic garments are produced. Subverting specific archetypes and misplacing garment signifiers places Archive Chapter 2 between contemporary and historical fashion systems, creating alternate interpretations of dress.
