Madeleine McInnes-Smith

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

Eden II explores under-acknowledged feminine dispositions. To be feminine is to be multi-faceted, to feel and express multiple emotions; it is to be strong but also kind, to be powerful but also thoughtful, to be
vulnerable but also caring.
My garments are grounded in expressive sculpture; I have used traditional techniques to create volume and silhouettes. Fabrics and colour palettes have been chosen for their aesthetic qualities and the ability to dress the body according to each disposition.
My collection explores power, joy, fury, and vulnerability at the forefront but remains open for audiences to read according to their own experience with femininity.
