Marvin Chen

The meteorite project is a storytelling chapter based on the creation of fantasy characters from the guardian angles, inspired by the moment when we feel hopeless and need to be cared for and protected. The guardian angels are just like the meteorite, mysterious and holding unpredictable power with sparkle. They are seen as a reflection of ourselves. The communication from our inner self to the guardian angels is a process of self understanding and healing. The design is blended with references to both the softness and drape from ancient Greek sculptures and the sharpness and simpleness of modern menswear, which reflect on two of my interests: the portrait of fantasy characters and the menswear industry I want to work in. Thus, the characters I created reflect myself. The moon, stars, and meteorites all these celestial bodies are a part of this endless universe of mysterious power. These elements are being shown as an accessory in the project and inform the identity of the fantasy characters. The meteorite is a project that presents quiet visuals with self-caring narrative.
