Taleah Ronchetti

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

'Intuitive Threads' is derived from my unwavering need to challenge the strict traditions within knit and crochet through subversion. Process, intuition and letting the materials speak act as catalysts for my practice. Intuitive Threads was born from the idea that by challenging tradition, we can harbour so much more creativity. Often, we see knitting as a practice that follows strict traditions, manipulating our materials and developing for function rather than design. When we think of knitwear, we usually think of oversized chunky sweaters, beanies and scarves worn during the harsh winter. This is everything my collection is not.
