Valerie Taaffe Miller

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

My work is centred on fashion design as a method of research. My collection entitled 1623 was a research project into how the clothes worn by women in 1623 and 2023 reflect the differences and similarities in the lived experiences of women across time. The collection aims to make early 17th-century clothes accessible to the modern woman, so you can relate to the women who came before you, and walk a mile in her dress and your shoes.
