Vivien Mikita

RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

Embarking into adulthood, I've transformed my self-perception, contrasting my past struggles with self- acceptance and body dysmorphia. This transformation of self-healing, fostering heightened self-awareness, femininity acceptance and newfound confidence led me to explore hyper-femininity tropes and their emotional impact, while leaving behind years of battling shame and fear of objectification. My collection employs knitted textiles and hand-sculpted forms, providing a tactile hand-made experience. Each model embodies a distinct character, 3 'warrior women', symbolizing womanhood, resilience, and empowerment. This collection connects with wearers, narrating societal pressures and women's challenges, symbolizing self-transformation, shedding old layers, and embracing growth's beauty—a visual representation of inner strength through adversity.
