Coco Leung

RMIT Bachelor of Textiles (Design)

‘Coco Bear’ is a teddy bear construction kit that combines my love of textiles and ‘cute culture’ – something that has provided me with social connection and an ongoing sense of belonging. This project began with hand-rendered illustrations that I transformed into repeating patterns, and then made into a series of twelve digitally printed fabrics. The fabrics depict what I imagine to be a day in the bear’s lives. My intention behind creating a DIY construction kit was to provide a way for others to explore their own identities creatively, as well as foster connection and community.
