Oh, the tears of a fragile man, or is what I intend rather a reconsideration of
masculinity? Where forms become delicate, and fragility becomes uncovered.
Because I believe masculinity is not so still, masculinity is not so structured, and
masculinity is not so manly. But it is not just feminine too! My Project “Purls are just
tears caught in the wind” aims to make sense of what we consider masculine and
what we consider feminine by dissecting the everyday occurrences, of the everyday
man wearing his cable sweater into a sequence of ambiguity and decay. That is
through the reinterpretation of meaning, when traditions of textiles and tailoring are
unconventionally combined.
