Kiss My Petals, Weave Me Through a Dream – Minnie Riperton’s 1969 song Les Fleurs explores feelings of freedom and hope through the symbolism of a flower. Born in the same moment, the classic 1960’s five petal daisy print was similarly synonymous with freedom, resistance and love. These floral symbols, traditionally associated with femininity, inspired me to explore my understanding of feminism in a contemporary context, drawing on Victorian style elements, military uniform, and typical fashions of second-wave feminism. This collection explores both high and accessible fashion using a combination of luxurious fabrics and core, everyday fashion pieces
