‘It all seems like yesterday’ is heavily inspired by the Odyssey, particularly the steadfast spirit of Penelope's role in the epic. The collection also draws inspiration from other eras' interpretations of Antiquity, specifically through the lenses of Neoclassicism and Pre-Raphaelite movements. Central to the collection are the transformative lives of women during the crucible of the Second World War and how their roles took on a new capacity in society. Influences of the period's style and military themes permeate the collection. These disparate themes are woven together through the original narrative I have written, creating an interplay of history's muses.
