“Fall nine times, I’ll catch you ten” explores human-nature interactions, focusing on the movement / action / concept / moment of catching and falling; reflected in transformable designs and organic forms. Moments of chaos and control are reflected in each of the garments through cut and construction techniques. Parachutes have been used as a main reference throughout the collection; a symbol and encapsulation of both ‘falling and catching’ in one object. I have constructed screen printed silk parachutes, and used parachute finishing techniques as a reference for the finishings and details on my garments.
