My collection focuses on the exploration and celebration of my Ukrainian heritage by merging elements of traditional costume, materials and artisanal techniques translated into contemporary fashion propositions. My work delves into several concepts, but at its core, it represents the tangible manifestation of feminine care and touch that are translated into the textiles and garments through their meticulous handcraft.
Inspired by the silhouettes and colours of the Ukrainian traditional costumes from the 15th to 17th centuries and contemporary designers like Anton Belinskiy and Dries Van Noten, my work explores the textile materiality through variety of techniques such as hand pleating, felting, and fabric laundering.
