Titled ‘Isobel’, my collection is anchored around the story of Isobel Gunn, a tale of courage & adventure it has become legend in the isolated island communities of Scotland. Daring to break convention, Isobel pretended to be a man so she could join the Hudson’s Bay Company and find her missing lover. Elements of femininity, Orkney heritage and childhood all amalgamate to become ’Isobel’. The ‘Isobel’ collection consists of timeless pieces that are frivolous and childlike, yet comfortable and pragmatic. Femininity today is about practically and reality and I want wearers to feel a sense of comfort and freedom while wearing my garments.
