RMIT Bachelor of Textiles (Design)

Choosing historical methods of textile manipulation and raw, unadulterated materials, I aim to modernise historical feminism and articulate its potency within a contemporary setting. Through these materials and techniques, I aim to tell a story that resonates with contemporary gender dynamics, illuminating the strength and resilience of women throughout history. Manipulating steel, leather, as well as unbleached cotton and wool; Historical methods such as vegetable-based dyeing, chainmail fabrication, knitting, pleating, and leather wet-forming will be revived.
