This collection explores the profound immigrant experience, delving into the emotions associated with being uprooted from one world and transplanted into another. Drawing from my own journey of culture shock, bewilderment and fascination upon arriving in Australia from our farm in Afghanistan, I aim to evoke these feelings through a rich tapestry of ethnic motifs. Central to this project is the theme of concealment and the complexities of not knowing, reflecting the layered identities and experiences of immigrants.
