RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design)

My launch project entitled 'comfortably lost' is a study in form making and historical pattern cutting techniques with an investigation into materials and surfaces for contemporary fashion. I am exploring pattern making as a language, a way of underwriting design. Using the 1930s return to softness and volume post the 1920’s boyish cuts, silhouettes move closer to the body to highlight shape. This capsule collection is exploration of how dualities are balanced and how the balance is shifted. Volume versus fit, high versus low, soft versus hard, loud versus quiet. Combining modern fashion construction with the sustainable garment construction techniques used in historical fashion.
